A new chapter has been opened at Lark. I decided to taste test and hand select a variety of Zero Alcohol beverages in my store. Unfortunately, I don’t offer these online, however I can curate a Zero Alcohol box just for you or someone that you care about. The photo in this blog post is one of the many I curated for customers in January. I add in a vintage pair of glasses and when available a vintage bar accessory such as an antique bone bottle opener or a bar spoon from the 1920s.
I, myself, love and enjoy wine and sometimes yes a cocktail…or two. I found that during the pandemic I was drinking way too much and that I had to make a change. Hence the reason I curated the Zero Alcohol chapter. It can be just for January or something that I plan on committing to, which is now and then, so that I can give my liver a break. 🙂
Remember that the secret to a great zero-proof cocktail lies in the balance. Start by balancing sweet and sour or sweet and bitter, then add complexity with spices, herbs, or other savory notes. Start simple, for example a zero-proof margarita or a gin and tonic. Just removing the alcohol leaves you with only juice and sweetener, so you do want to replace it with something that has some of those bitter or herbal notes.
I do carry all of the bitters and cocktail mixers online, check out my Bar section.
Okay, now for my favorite drink- I absolutely LOVE the Pomegranate Bergamot Slushy, made with Organic Pink Daisy Cocktail Mix. I think it’s my fave! You will need a Vitamix or some type of beverage mixer.
Take 2 oz of Pink Daisy, 2 oz of Square One Bergmot Vodka and 4 pitted cherries. Blend with 1 cup of ice, pour into stemless wine glass or rocks glass, garnish with mint sprig. Enjoy!
I also absolutely LOVE this book, this is a must buy if you are bored with your beverages- The Flower Infused Cocktail
Message me if you would like more recipes, let me know what your favorite drink is and I will send you a ZERO Alcohol alternative recipe.
Cheers,
Starr Hall
